Posted by GreaterGoodness

When Gabi Shull was 9 years old, she was diagnosed with bone cancer and it seemed that her dancing days were over. Her knee had to be amputated and she underwent rotationplasty, a surgical procedure in which her lower leg was rotated and fitted to her upper leg so that her ankle served as the knee joint. With the help of prosthetics she could still dance, but her passion to dance on pointe now seemed elusive. However, Gabi never gave up and now with a special prosthetic pointe foot, and at the age of 12, she has fulfilled her dream of dancing on pointe. She is now cancer-free and is inspiring young dancers everywhere!
