Showing His Softer Side: Cop Makes Little Girl’s Wish Come True On Her Birthday!

Posted by GreaterGoodness

JadeLynn had a simple yet generous wish for her fourth birthday: she wanted to buy a police officer a meal. Police officers tend to have busy schedules, but JadeLynn’s mother, Tara Murphy, got in touch with one who said he could make it. When the family met Clarksburg police officer Mark Waggamon at the local Burger King, they were in for quite a surprise. Their experience would soon attract serious social media attention. While JadeLynn originally wanted to buy the meal (and had the money in her hand to prove it), Officer Waggamon convinced her to let him pay. According to Opposing Views, Mark wore his uniform and brought plenty of presents, including a police uniform just for JadeLynn.

To make JadeLynn’s birthday extra special, Mark went into the play place with her. One person who commented on the story on Facebook mentioned seeing the pair climbing up and down the tubes. Mark even gave JadeLynn a little pep talk to help her climb all the way to the top after she got scared.

JadeLynn’s family made sure to take plenty of pictures of the special day, including Mark playing with JadeLynn, standing in line with her and holding her in his arms while they ordered. Mark let JadeLynn sit in the driver’s seat of his police car for one photo, and you can’t fake the kind of beaming smile she has in that picture.

It may have been just one afternoon, but it’s an afternoon neither of them will ever forget.
