The Power of a Hand-Written Letter: Best Friend Pen Pals Meet After 38 Years!

Posted by GreaterGoodness

After 38 years of exchanging letters, pen pals Beth Graham and Sandi Fisher got to exchange something even more meaningful — and this time, it didn’t require a mailman. The two women first got in contact through the 1970s show Big Blue Marble that connected kids around the globe as pen pals. From that point on, the grade school gals kept in contact via mail, telephone and, later, email, until a cross-country visit nearly four decades later brought Sandi to Beth’s home state of Pennsylvania. Check out the ladies’ emotional reactions as they meet face to face for the very first time.

Did you have a pen pal growing up? Did the two of you ever meet? We’d love to hear it!
