Seahawks Sign 34-Year-Old Former Green Beret! How Cool Is That?!

Just after the completion of the 2015 NFL Draft, the Seattle Seahawks called 34-year-old long snapper Nate Boyer of the University of Texas and offered him a contract as an undrafted free agent.

Nate didn’t even play organized football until he was out of the service — at age 29! Boyer has multiple war-zone deployments to his credit, including to Afghanistan as a member of the Texas Army National Guard.

“You can’t really compare the two in a lot of ways, but this is a huge challenge in itself,” Nate said. “This is the best athletes in the world. Just to get an opportunity and be able to compete… And I’m playing for a great team in a great city. I couldn’t be any more thrilled.”

I don’t know about you, but I’ll be cheering for him to make the team!
