After Being Pulled Out By A Riptide, This Girl Was Saved By The Least Likely Thing… A Selfie Stick!

Posted by GreaterGoodness

While swimming at Surfside Beach in Nantucket, this 16 year old and her parents were pulled out by a riptide. Thankfully though, her selfie stick was there to save her! Unable to swim herself because of the massive pull from the tide, the selfie stick came in handy because it allowed someone to grab on and pull her in to safety.

If you don’t have a selfie stick though and you find yourself stuck in a riptide, there are things you can do to make sure you survive it. First, don’t try to swim to shore. the tide will work against you and tire you out before you make it. Swim along the shore instead. The riptide won’t be big enough to prevent you from swimming in further down the coast. But the biggest thing. Don’t panic.
